Leonard Sweet's book "I Am A Follower" is a compilation of Biblical references, pop culture tie ins, and quotes from scripture all based on two premises - first, that Jesus is the leader; second, that we are his followers. This book explores the true meaning of FOLLOWING Jesus, rather than focusing on leadership. I thought that Sweet made some really interesting points, honestly. He focuses on the importance of an intimate relationship with our churches, and how we can become more fully devoted followers of Christ. The book felt a little bit choppy, as if the chapters didn't marry well, but other than that, the material itself made a lot of sense, and has a lot of practical applications in the life of any Christian. I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in being more of a follower of Christ than they currently are in their life. Would make a great gift for church officials and leaders, as well.
