The Book of Life Recovery

Stephen Arterburn and David Stoop have joined forces to create "The Book of Life Recovery", which is a Biblical based companion to the 12 step program for recovering from addiction. This book uses personal stories of addiction and recovery, coupled with Biblical support to instill hope and restore faith in those who are recovering from addiction, or for those who have loved ones who are struggling with addiction. This book uses scriptural references and Bible stories to support the addict in creating a new lifestyle based on their faith.

I thought that "The Book of Life Recovery" is a great resource for those suffering from addiction, trying to recover from addiction, or loved ones of those who are addicted. The book offers Biblical insights, as well as Bible studies with self assessment questions for the addict to really evaluate their own choices and personal situation. Addiction is something that can really take over your life, and I thought that this book really offers a lot of information, hope, and support for those who are struggling.

I liked that each chapter represents one of the twelve steps, so that the reader can absorb each step one at a time, without feeling completely overwhelmed. The Biblical references are easy to understand, but really contribute to the content of the steps. I would give this book a 5/5.
